English majors at Marywood University take a capstone course called ENGL 495 Senior Seminar. Students read about questions and conflicts facing the humanities and the discipline of English in particular, with the goal of better understanding their own education and learning–both in the past and in the future.

Students also pursue their own research projects, on topics they choose themselves, over the course of the semester.

This blog will be a place for students to reflect on class readings, to share what they learn about specific academic journals and academic conferences in areas that interest them, and a place for them to share abstracts of their own research.

As the teacher of the Senior Sem, I’m looking forward to all the students have to teach me. I hope you find their work as exciting as I do!
